A penitent teenager who spent five nights in jail after flipping a Miami-Dade circuit judge the bird went home to her family Monday. "My behavior was very irrational, and I apologize not only to you and the court but to my family," a tearful Penelope Soto told Judge Jorge Rodriguez-Chomat, who had sentenced her to 30 days behind bars for contempt.

In vacating his contempt order, Rodriguez-Chomat said: "Don’t cry. I’m not a monster." He wished her luck, adding, "I really do hope you’ve learned a lesson."
