“I don’t want it to consume my life and I can see an overwhelming demand deteriorate my balance and mental health. It is hard and nearly impossible to say no as a junior associate so that makes it difficult to manage,” said one anonymous respondent from Holland & Knight’s Miami program, which echoes responses at many of the firms included in the survey.

The American Lawyer’s summer associates satisfaction rankings are out, with 23 Florida-based offices included in the data.
Holland & Knight is the only Florida-rooted Am Law firm to be included in the top 100 overall rankings this year at 52nd place. The firm’s Miami office also had the biggest class of Florida-based associates who submitted results. Among the other firms whose Florida offices were included in the survey were DLA Piper, Winston & Strawn and Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy.
