The Florida Supreme Court heard oral arguments Tuesday in a case involving a 63-year-old attorney whom a judicial referee found guilty in disciplinary proceedings that question whether the lawyer acted in his own best interest, rather than his clients’.

The case involves what The Florida Bar says is an overzealous pursuit of attorney fees during the lawyer’s four years as counsel to two Florida limited liability companies he represented in a land transaction.
