Hundreds of Southwest Florida law firms remained without power Friday afternoon after Hurricane Ian made landfall along the coastline between Naples to Sarasota on Wednesday, battering communities within several miles of the ocean with NOAA-indicated storm surge between 6 and 12 feet.

Nearly 3,000 lawyers live and work in that corridor, according to Florida Bar records. In the hardest-hit Lee and Charlotte counties, 80% of customers still lacked power, while roughly half of customers in Sarasota County to the north and Collier County to the south had power.
