A pedestrian who was struck by two vehicles while attempting to cross a roadway received a net jury award of $8,416,065, after applying the woman’s comparative fault for the accident. The amount of the initial verdict was $12,022,950.

On Feb. 11, 2011, plaintiff Ashley Rierson, 19, a hostess, was struck by two vehicles. The accident occurred as she attempted to walk across U.S. Route 1 near mile marker 82, in Islamorada. There were no crosswalks in the area.
