Two Coral Gables attorneys turned a weakness in a wrongful death negligent security case into a strength to reach a multimillion-dollar settlement with opposing counsel on behalf of the deceased client’s estate.
Pedro Echarte and Michael Haggard, partners at the Haggard Law Firm, represented the estate of DeAngelo Tillie against defendants Eagle Gardens of Jacksonville LLC and Lohman Property MGMT Co. LLC. From the onset, a targeting defense posed a liability in recovering money for the estate that included two surviving kids.
