Starbucks Corp. must pay nearly $9 million to a woman who was struck by a car while crossing the drive-through lane at a Starbucks location in Fernandina Beach.

On July 1, 2019, plaintiff Sherry Gold, 72, a retiree, was struck by a sport utility vehicle. The incident occurred in the parking lot of a restaurant that was located at 1453 Sadler Road, in the city of Fernandina Beach. Gold suffered injuries of an ankle, a foot and a knee.
