A year ago today, Surfside condominium Champlain Towers South collapsed, killing 98 people. Since then, an extraordinary push from South Florida’s legal community and Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Michael Hanzman has led to the approval a $1 billion settlement on behalf of victims.
