Ursula Ungaro, a partner at Boies Schiller, is a former state trial judge and federal judge in the Southern District of Florida who’s presided over hundreds of civil and criminal cases for more than 30 years.

Ungaro became a supporter of federal sentencing reforms after being forced to hand a life sentence to the girlfriend of a cocaine trafficker under mandatory federal sentencing guidelines. Ungaro has also served on the Florida Supreme Court Race and Bias Commission and sits on the board of directors for a non-profit supporting disadvantaged families with educational resources, and she volunteers in CARE Court, a reentry program for moderate- and high-risk offenders recently released from prison.
