3M was hit with a $110 million verdict late Thursday, the largest award ever for plaintiffs suing over its dual-ended combat earplugs used in the U.S. military.

A federal jury in Pensacola, Florida, awarded $55 million each to two plaintiffs, Ronald Sloan and William Wayman, according to the plaintiffs’ team. The award included $15 million in compensatory damages, and $40 million in punitive damages, to each plaintiff.
