A jury declined to award damages to a woman who claimed that she injured her spine seven years ago in a motor-vehicle accident in Fort Lauderdale.

On May 9, 2014, plaintiff Madeline Lopez Bermudez, 59, a house manager, was driving on the westbound side of Davie Boulevard, near an intersection at Southwest 35th Avenue, in the city of Fort Lauderdale. While Bermudez was stopped, her car’s rear end was struck by a trailing car that was being driven by Salvatore Guerriero. Bermudez’s car was propelled forward, and it struck the rear end of a preceding car. Bermudez claimed that she suffered injuries of her back and neck.
