A sharply divided appeals court rejected a lawsuit alleging that a transgender woman faced illegal discrimination when she was asked to change seats at a “Black Chippendales” show because performers objected to her presence.

A panel of the First District Court of Appeal, in a 2-1 decision, ruled against Nevaeh Love, who alleged that her rights were violated under the Florida Civil Rights Act, which bars discrimination in places of “public accommodation” based on factors such as race, sex and religion.
