I am a woman.  I am a black woman. I am a black woman lawyer.  I have experienced the double bind of racism and sexism my entire existence. I have experienced the double bind of racism and sexism in this profession since I was an aspiring lawyer in law school.

Despite the current political and social climate, and the growing trend towards an acceptance of political incorrectness, racism is not as blatant as it once was. I cannot earnestly recall a scenario where I was outright called a nigger, or any other racial epithet for that matter.
