It was around 10 a.m. when Pedro Hernandez received a call from his wife’s boss informing him that Maria had suffered a seizure.

“I remember telling her, ‘What are you talking about, she had a seizure? She runs every day. I’m the fat one in this relationship,’” Pedro Hernandez recalled.
