A British appeals court set aside a ruling against the Venezuelan government of Nicolás Maduro and ordered reconsideration of a decision preventing the government from withdrawing $1 billion in gold reserves held by the Bank of England.
A British judge denied the Maduro government’s request in July, arguing the bank could not release the funds because the U.K. “unequivocally” recognized opposition leader Juan Guaidó as president of the Latin American country.
