The full U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit will rehear a case examining a former Jacksonville congresswoman’s corruption conviction based on a juror’s removal after he said “my father in heaven” convinced him the 24-year House member was not guilty.

The court agreed Thursday to an en banc review of the case and vacated January’s 2-1 decision upholding the juror’s removal from the case of former U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown, D-Florida. The decision tees up a dispute over judicial discretion and religious faith.
