Against a backdrop of widespread protests, legal academics in Florida and beyond are making the case that law schools, law students and lawyers have key roles to play in promoting justice and ending inequality.

At the University of Miami, the law school hosted a Zoom discussion focused on racial profiling and police brutality with first-person account by student leaders. UM Law Dean Anthony Varona, who led the webinar, noted ”the virus of racist police brutality is, unlike COVID-19, not novel.”
