A jury rendered a defense verdict in a case of a 34-year-old driver who sued a body shop owner for malicious prosecution and false imprisonment.

When Vianca Deshawn Jordan went to The Real Deal Body Shop Inc. in Doral to pick up her minivan, she got into a dispute with the shop’s owner, Radel Perez, over payment. Perez claimed Jordan struck him with her vehicle before fleeing the scene. Jordan was later arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, but the charge was eventually dropped. Jordan maintained she did not strike the body shop owner and the police had no cause to arrest her.
