A Waterbury Superior Court judge has ordered the former owner of a pit bull to pay $130,179 to the family of a 9-year-old girl bitten in the face.
Lynn Tompkins, now 13, needed 20 stitches to the right side of her face following the attack in her home in May 2014, according to James McColl Jr., the family’s attorney. The girl needed plastic surgery to repair a large gash from her right eye to her cheek, to repair a hole in her forehead and a tear in her ear lobe. The girl still has a small scar on her face.
