The Connecticut Supreme Court ruled that the town of Plainfield should not be liable for injuries suffered by a man at a town pool when it was rented out to an outside organization.

The ruling is a victory for Connecticut municipalities and makes it harder for citizens to sue them for liability, according to attorneys and legal experts. The high court, in its 14-page decision, sided with Plainfield on each claim brought forth by David St. Pierre, who asserted he was injured after slipping on wet steps.
