The owner of Courtney Honda in Milford is suing the auto maker to block it from terminating his franchise after he was convicted of nine misdemeanors in two states.

Stephen Courtney, who’s owned the dealership since 1986, pleaded nolo contendere in 2016 to six Connecticut misdemeanors in 2013 that included reckless endangerment, interfering with an officer and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Courtney also pleaded guilty in 2016 in a separate incident in New York to reckless driving, aggravated driving while intoxicated and reckless endangerment.
