A federal jury awarded a former Wal-Mart manager $5.5 million over claims the company retaliated against him for filing a discrimination complaint.
The award came down in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut on Wednesday in one of three cases filed by former Wal-Mart managers, all African-American. The plaintiffs alleged they were fired because they previously complained of discrimination.
