Antonio Ponvert’s closing argument to a superior court jury made clear what he wanted out of his wrongful death suit against Bridgeport and a city police officer in connection with the fatal shooting of Frederick McAllister in 2008.
Ponvert asked the jury for 20 million dollars. But jurors decided that Ponvert hadn’t made a case for any amount of money. They concluded that Sgt. Brian Fitzgerald acted reasonably to protect his own life after being led by on a high speed car chase by McAllister and having shots fired at him.
