Not only did a three-judge panel deny former Bridgeport Mayor Joseph P. Ganim reinstatement to the bar last week, but it had sharp words for a standing committee of Fairfield County lawyers that endorsed Ganim’s bid to regain his license after serving seven years in prison after his 2003 conviction on 16 municipal corruption charges.

The Superior Court judges — Julia D. Dewey, Barbara Bellis and Elliot Solomon — also strongly suggested that the state change its process of considering applications for reinstatement to the bar.
