The Connecticut Appellate Court affirmed around $1.2 billion of the judgment against Alex Jones for defaming family members of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, but reversed the $150 million in punitive damages awarded under the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act.

The court disagreed with the defendant's arguments on appeal that the trial court improperly defaulted Jones and denied the motion for remittitur, upholding the largest personal injury judgment in Connecticut history.
