A federal judge in Massachusetts had several experienced litigators to choose from to serve as interim lead counsel to lead the plaintiffs in a consolidated data breach matter against a medical technology company, but the applicants who provided greater detail on the work already completed, the resources available, and the funding commitments may have had a leg up.
U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani appointed Jean S. Martin, lead attorney for Morgan & Morgan’s complex litigation group in Tampa, Florida, to serve as interim lead class counsel in a consolidated data breach action against medical technology company Zoll Medical Corp. According to her firm’s bio, Martin has served as interim co-lead counsel in other data breach cases against Morgan Stanley, Chili’s parent company Brinker International and Chipotle Mexican Grill.
