Synchrony Financial’s Chief Legal Officer Jon Mothner said while transitioning to in-house was deliberate, there was also an element of risk.
Mothner, who was trained as a litigator, started his career as an associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton and later spent three years as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of New York.
