The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit on Tuesday affirmed a district court decision finding that the International Criminal Police Organization, commonly known as Interpol, is immune from suit as a public international organization under the International Organizations Immunities Act.

The panel of Circuit Judges José Cabranes, Gerard Lynch and Denny Chin found that the IOIA grants “the same immunity from suit extended to foreign sovereigns” to international organizations unless that immunity is expressly waived.
