A Danbury attorney who has been suspended from practicing in state courts for the past three years and who has claimed the disciplinary process has been racially discriminatory and retaliatory against her is a step closer to full reinstatement following an Oct. 7 report from the Standing Committee on Recommendations for Middlesex County.

Josephine Smalls Miller, who was allowed to return to federal practice in May, said this week that while she is relieved to see the state committee’s recommendation for reinstatement, she does not agree with all aspects of the report, which must be reviewed by a three-judge panel for a final determination of reinstatement.
