Several heavyweight congressional investigations attorneys represented former U.S. Justice Department officials as they testified about attempts by former President Donald Trump to pressure the department into casting doubt on the 2020 election results.

The lawyers’ involvement in the probe was revealed in transcripts of their clients’ testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee, which released an interim report on Thursday detailing how Trump pressured top DOJ officials to declare that the election was corrupt. The reports also lays out how Trump contemplated replacing acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen with another DOJ lawyer, Jeffrey Bossert Clark, who was pushing unfounded voter fraud claims.
