It was the testimony of injured motorist Jay Crump on his limitations after his car was rear-ended that was the clinching factor in a Connecticut arbitrator awarding $90,803, or more than 22 times the defense’s first offer of $3,963, according to the plaintiff’s counsel.
Crump suffered a fracture and sprain to his right wrist following the March 2018 accident in Torrington. That injury impacted his work and hobbies, and Crump relayed that to Hartford arbitrator Thomas Cella, who found in his favor regarding the $100,000 policy limit.
