The Biden administration is still in its infancy, but a number of law professors have already joined the new team in Washington, D.C., with more likely on the way.

President Joe Biden has filled only a fraction of the 4,000 or so federal appointments under his purview, and it’s not unusual for legal academics to make the leap from campus to government agencies. In fact, many of Biden’s early law professor appointments are on their second or even third stints of government service. Plenty of professors start their careers in government before moving into the academy.
