The U.S. Justice Department has filed suit against Wolcott alleging that town leaders deliberately violated the Fair Housing Act by refusing to allow for the operation of a group home for adults with disabilities.
While the town’s mayor denied the accusations leveled in the 17-page federal lawsuit, filed Monday, the Justice Department also said the town changed its zoning regulations to block the home’s application from proceeding.
