Nearly five weeks after the U.S. Department of Justice announced it had closed criminal and civil investigations with Stamford-based Purdue Pharma LP, the government announced that the company is expected to plead guilty Tuesday to conspiracy and kickback charges.

The U.S. attorney for the District of New Jersey announced that the embattled Big Pharma company is scheduled to admit its guilt in conspiracies to defraud the government and violate the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and the federal anti-kickback statute.
