A Connecticut federal judge has granted Norwalk Hospital’s request to dismiss state claims in an age, gender and religious discrimination lawsuit that a former male nurse leveled against the institution.

U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut Judge Warren Eginton agreed with the hospital’s request to dismiss three state law discrimination claims for failure to exhaust administrative remedies and also to dismiss defamation and negligent infliction of emotional distress claims for failure to state a claim. The hospital didn’t seek to remove three federal claims, which are still pending. Those relate to violations of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 and two violations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
