Five years ago, when Elizabeth “Boo” Baker joined Twitch Interactive Inc. as the company’s first general counsel, the video game streaming company was a start-up with no established legal department.

Now, Twitch’s site is one of the largest sources of peak U.S. Internet traffic. It’s no longer solely dedicated to video games, with streamers creating paintings or chatting about daily life. In 2014, the company was acquired by Amazon for roughly $970 million.
