Andrew Cohen is a Senior Vice President of Burford’s underwriting and investment arm.
Prior to joining Burford, Mr. Cohen was a litigator at Debevoise & Plimpton, where he specialized in litigation and regulatory matters involving financial institutions and complex financial products, as well as IP matters relating to trademark disputes. He regularly represented financial institutions and public companies before state Attorneys General, the SEC, and the DOJ in investigations into complex securities including auction rate securities and MBS, accounting issues and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations.
Mr. Cohen graduated from Columbia Law School, where he was a Stone Scholar and an editor of the Columbia Law Review.

Alyx Pattison is Vice President at Burford, focused on originating new business with law firms and corporate legal departments, based in Chicago.
Ms. Pattison has an extensive background in both law and politics, with well over a decade of experience as a litigator. Before joining Burford, she was the Founder and President of a political consulting business with a focus on providing legal advice and compliance for congressional campaigns. Prior to this, Ms. Pattison was a Partner in the litigation departments of AmLaw 100 firms, Akerman LLP and Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, with a focus on defense of publicly traded companies in securities class actions, M&A litigation and shareholder derivative suits. Ms. Pattison has been actively involved with Women’s Leadership and Diversity Committees.
Ms. Pattison graduated from the University of Utah and holds a Juris Doctor from Northwestern University School of Law.
