Six former in-house counsel at Detroit-based General Motors Co. fired over their roles in the fatal ignition switch scandal have apparently escaped a state ethics inquiry.
The Michigan Supreme Court’s Attorney Grievance Commission has declined a request to investigate the lawyers, according to a Wall Street Journal report. The paper cites a letter received by Jay Gass of Tennessee, who requested the inquiry. The commission does not publicly comment on investigations or requests for them.
