While the percentage of companies ready to handle a data breach has steadily grown over the last year, a large number of general counsel still say their businesses are not prepared to defend against a cybersecurity incident, according to a new survey.

Some 49 percent of GCs surveyed by the Consero Group don’t believe their companies are adequately prepared when it comes to a data breach. “I think clearly there is room for improvement here,” Paul Mandell, Consero’s founder and chief executive, told CorpCounsel.com Monday.
