In January, Matthew Lepore took over as general counsel of the North American affiliate of BASF SE, the world’s largest chemical company (headquartered in Germany). Lepore was most recently corporate secretary and chief governance counsel at Pfizer Inc., but he doesn’t seem to regret trading pharmaceuticals for chemicals and plastics.
“I think my experience at Pfizer will help at an innovative science-based company like BASF,” he says. He replaced David Stryker, now GC at Huntsman Corporation.
