A key word for an in-house counsel of a global company is “harmonizing”—the act of smoothly pulling together the diverse legal, regulatory and compliance demands of different countries that can impact the company.

That word popped up often in “Managing Risk in Diverging Legal Systems,” a webcast presented Tuesday by the Association of Corporate Counsel’s litigation committee, starting with Carlo Dalla Vedova of Dalla Vedova Studio Legale in Rome. (Besides practicing international commercial law, Dalla Vedova serves as accused murderer Amanda Knox’s criminal defense attorney in Italy.)
