I split my time between Chicago and Tampa. The general post-election vibe among my professional contacts in Chicago is disappointment. The general post-election vibe among my professional contacts in Tampa is muted. I’m not hearing much celebrating among in-house attorneys, regardless of location.
For someone who stood in Chicago’s Grant Park on Nov. 4, 2008, during Barack Obama’s first victory celebration speech, the politics that have followed Obama’s presidency feel childish. For the most part, I simply look away.
