Federal government attorneys are flooding onto the job market in unprecedented numbers, legal recruiters say, a combination of the political appointees who typically depart during a changeover in presidential administrations infused with thousands of civil servants who don't want to work under President-elect Donald Trump or his unconventional choices for agency heads.

“There’s such an obvious dichotomy between what the Trump administration likes in its lawyers and what the Biden administration likes in its lawyers,” said Mike Evers of Evers Legal Search in Chicago. "Lawyers in the Biden administration want out immediately. They’re not going to stay and overlap.”
