The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, a federally chartered nonprofit that doles out $500 million annually to U.S. public media, has a new legal chief for the first time in nearly 20 years.
The Washington, D.C.-based organization has appointed Evan Slavitt as general counsel, succeeding Westwood Smithers Jr., who is retiring after holding the post since 2005.
