Horacio Gutierrez, the chief legal officer of The Walt Disney Co., received $11.7 million in compensation in the latest fiscal year, a rich payout the media and entertainment giant said reflected his “continued outstanding performance.”

Gutierrez joined Burbank, California-based Disney in December 2021, coming from Spotify, where he spent five years as legal chief. Before that, he spent 17 years at Microsoft, rising to general counsel, the No. 2 legal post.
