Overshadowed by the resignations in March of three National Audubon Society directors after it rejected changing its name over concerns about racist views held by namesake John James Audubon was the departure that same month of longtime general counsel Lorraine Sciarra.

The nonprofit didn’t announce Sciarra’s departure after nearly 12 years as legal chief, but it came to light Monday after Lochlin Partners, a recruiting firm that assisted the Audubon Society with its GC search, announced that veteran environmental attorney Charlotte Young had landed the role.
