First, Twitter laid off half of its 7,500-person staff. Now, some key players in content moderation and information security have quit—prompting the Federal Trade Commission to issue a statement saying “we are tracking recent developments at Twitter with deep concern.”

The San Francisco-based social media platform is under FTC monitoring because of a 2011 consent decree in which it agreed to install additional privacy safeguards and be accountable for an information-security program.
