Notarize, a Boston-based remote notarization tech company that laid off about 25% of its 450-person workforce in June, has shrunk its more than 60-person legal department down to a team of 17 over the past year.

“I have gone through the full circle of emotions: shock, sadness, anger and most notably fear,” the company’s now-former director of legal operations, Catherine Cambridge, wrote in a LinkedIn post after the recent layoffs.
