Warren announced her new position at Rancho Cordova, California-based VSP Tuesday on LinkedIn. For more than a decade, Warren held various legal roles at the San Antonio, Texas-based USAA, which offers insurance and banking services to military members and their families. In her last role as vice president—division general counsel of life insurance, Warren managed 15 life insurance and broker-dealer legal professionals, according to her LinkedIn profile.

“I’m delighted to share that I started a new role today as chief legal officer and general counsel at VSP Global,” Warren wrote in her post. “It sounds simple but on day one, I’m learning there are many different components that go into driving our purpose of empowering human potential through sight. With a great team and culture in place, I’m looking forward to this new journey.”

She added, “To my amazing colleagues at USAA (both current and past), it was an honor and privilege to serve alongside you for 16 years facilitating the financial security of the men and women of the military and their families.”

Warren replaces Thomas Fessler, who has been chief legal officer and general counsel at VSP since 2006. The roles put him over the company’s legal affairs, corporate development, corporate risk management, and federal and state lobbying, according to his bio on LinkedIn.

VSP is the largest vision benefits provider in the United States.
