The best résumé advice is custom tailor whenever possible. If you are putting yourself forward for an executive General Counsel position with a sizable law department, for example, then you should be writing about leadership experience, C-Suite credibility, budgetary acumen, and strategic thinking.
If you are applying for a staff level position without managerial responsibility, focus on your bread and butter technical expertise. Edit out any executive leadership language. Don’t write for you. Write for the reader!
